CHEAP NITE: Every WEDNESDAY!Cheap Nites are usually quite busy. Why? Because it's cheaper to buy a movie ticket on Cheap Nite: only $5.00. Please check showtimes and try to be at the theater to purchase tickets about a half hour before the first show. We now sell Advance Tickets. If the show is expected to sell out, even if you have already purchased tickets we recommend arriving about a half hour before showtime. (Your ticket guarantees you a seat in the auditorium. It doesn't guarantee you what seat.) If the auditorium is filling up and the only seats you can find are unacceptable, I will refund your tickets within 20 minutes of seating for the film. (Obviously, I'd prefer to refund before the movie starts so I can let someone else in. Please help us with this...) Note: Our seating capacity is dictated by fire code. We have more seats than we sell so there is some "wiggle room" when we do sell out. Do not assume because there are empty seats that we will sell tickets for them. We will not. Policy on saving seatsAbsolutely no "saving" of seats if you have not bought a ticket for those seats (Especially if those seats haven't repented). I will not get involved in disputes about saving seats. If you want to lay your coat on a seat or two after you've purchased your tickets, then run out and grab a coffee, that's cool. But, if someone moves your coat, I don't want to hear about it. If you buy tickets for your group, put paper or whatever on the seats to reserve them, and someone sits in them while you wait out in the lobby, too bad. I will get involved if one individual tries to reserve more than three seats besides their own. So, if you buy eight tickets, put reserved signs on eight seats then wait in the lobby, you can pretty much count on losing those seats. If you wait in the auditorium and try to fend off the masses, and I have to get involved, you lose. Understand that if I drag my busy ass from the snack bar to deal with the fact your party can't arrive on time, and you're trying to make it everyone else's problem (who did arrive on time) by hogging seats, you can count on me seating as many people as possible in "your" seats. Cheap Nite and other busy nights occasionally will find the film starting a little late. Please don't despair. I will get my darling self into the projection booth as soon as I can. We generally start no more than five minutes late, even when very busy. If we have a second show, we cannot run the shows together. The Avalon Cinema is blessed with some of the coolest customers on the planet. So, even if it's busy and running late, it is a rare event that there is tension in the auditorium. Relax and enjoy the grape lights and Mary. Thanks for playing well with others ~~ Paul |
