GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS (JANUARY 1999)

Good News:  We are now using a professional national booker to get movies for the Avalon Cinema.

Bad News:  We have to raise the admission to $5.50 for General admission after January 8, 1999.

Good News:  This should be the last rate hike for a spell.

Bad News:  I have nothing to base that statement upon.

Good News:  We are keeping Arbitrary Senior and Cheap Nite rates the same.

Bad News:  The snack bar prices will have to go up, too.

Good News:  You can bitch to the guy who’s doing this. Not Paul's daughter.

Bad News:  He won’t be too receptive since the last price change was over a year ago -- and admission price went DOWN a buck.

Good News:  The pink Gift Certificates will be honored for the complete $5.50 admission (or whatever they were issued for) after the 8th. Right up 'til we say otherwise.

Bad News:  The yellow ones will not. They will be worth only their issued price after the 8th.

Good News:  Many of our programs will be double features. (That's one admission for two flicks!)

Bad News:  You will have to bring a friend since soaking in all that good film for so long is not advised as a solo activity.

Good News:  We’re still a great deal.

More Good News:  It’s people like you that keep us open. Thanks!
